Rude spring refuses to say 'Hi': 15 cm of blowing snow hit Ottawa

It's a couple of days into spring, but you wouldn't know it if you looked outside as heavy snow hit the nation's capital on Saturday with strong winds.
Some thought winter was over, until they saw Ottawa blanketed by snow on March 22. 2:51

Though the snowfall warning has ended for Ottawa, spring is sure coming in like a tortoise with about 15 centimetres of snow still expected for Ottawa.

Winds reached 40 kilometres an hour, as well, creating low visibility on the roads as well as blowing snow. The visibility was only 200 metres or less at some points.

The snow was heavy at times with three to five centimetres falling per hour, which increased the accumulation even though the snow did not last for a long period of time.

The weather forecast also called for flurries on Saturday night in Ottawa.

The City of Ottawa also issued a parking ban for Saturday night from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. Only those vehicles with parking permits are allowed to park on city streets.
