Quebec dad fined after young girls seen 'car surfing'

A father of a six-year-old girl was fined more than $1,200 for letting his daughter and his spouse's seven-year-old daughter ride on the hood of his car on two occasions.

A 29-year-old father was fined after he allowed two young girls to ride on the hood of a vehicle while he was driving.

The man from La Pêche, Que., just north of Gatineau, was fined $1,264 after MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police discovered he allowed his six-year-old daughter and his spouse's seven-year-old daughter to "car surf" on two separate occasions.

The incidents happened on July 17 and 18 on Du Lac Vert Road in La Pêche.

Witnesses had contacted police about the incidents and a fine was given.

The man could also be charged with criminal negligence, police said.
