Owners of a cottage in Val-des-Monts were shocked when they arrived on Friday afternoon to find extensive damage throughout the property, police say.
Windows were shattered, walls were smashed in, doors were torn off, fire extinguishers were emptied and dishes were broken, among other things, but nothing was stolen.
The break-in happened sometime between March 16 and March 29. Police were called just before 1 p.m. Friday.
MRC des Collines police believe two suspects might have been involved, according to a media release.
Police also think the suspects consumed drugs at the cottage, located on des Alouettes Road off of Battle Lake. Police said the suspects must have walked to the property on foot because vehicles can't access the home in the winter.
Battle Lake is about 45 kilometres northeast of downtown Ottawa.
