Police search for Valentine's Day robbery suspect

Police are looking for a young man who allegedly pushed a 74-year-old man to the ground during an ATM robbery on Feb. 14.

Ottawa police are asking for help to find a man suspected of robbing a senior at an ATM on Valentine’s Day.

A 74-year-old man asked for help to use the ATM in a building on the 100 block of Rideau Street around 5:45 p.m., according to police.

A man in his 20s stepped in to assist then grabbed the cash, pushed the senior to the ground and ran away, police said. 

The suspect was last seen running on Nicholas Street. He is described as being a tall, white man between the ages of 23 and 28. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a logo on the front and a Yukon-style winter hat at the time of the robbery, police said.
