Ottawa police say they've arrested a major player in a city prostitution ring after responding to a 911 call regarding a woman who was forcibly removed from a downtown bar early Friday morning.

Ken Michel Katalyi-Kassende, 27, has been charged with kidnapping, uttering threats, trafficking and living off the avails of prostitution after police arrested him on Saturday on Eiffel Avenue, near Hog's Back and Meadowlands

Because of the seriousness of the situation, Ottawa police directed an entire unit of six investigators to the task of locating the victim, who was able to provide information on the suspect’s whereabouts.

"It took a great deal of effort but they were able to locate and identify the victim," said Staff Sgt. James Pietrkiewicz. "She was being forced into a human trafficking situation, forced into prostitution."

According to police, the 27-year-old victim was allegedly pimped out for several months and only knew her attacker as "Marlo".

Police have reason to believe that there are more victims and are urging them to come forward.
