Police investigating Sandy Hill sex assault

Ottawa police are investigating a weekend sexual assault on Chapel Street just north of Laurier Avenue East in Sandy Hill.

Woman inappropriately touched on Chapel St. Sunday morning, police say

Ottawa police are investigating a weekend sexual assault on Chapel Street just north of Laurier Avenue East in Sandy Hill.

Police said a young woman was approached by a man at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 27.

Police said the man initiated a conversation and then touched the woman inappropriately.

The victim struck the man and he fled the area. She suffered no injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, in his early 20s, clean shaven with short hair and a medium build. He was well-dressed and wearing jeans. He also spoke with an English accent.

The man was possibly intoxicated at the time of the alleged assault, police said.
