Ottawa police say the stabbing victim Sunday night was uncooperative. (CBC)

A 17-year-old boy was slashed in the calf in a fight late Sunday night at Mooney's Bay but refused to co-operate when officers arrived to investigate.

The incident happened at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility at around 10:40 p.m.

The victim was treated at the scene, and taken to hospital in stable condition. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Mooney's Bay was host over the weekend to the Dragon Boat Festival, which wrapped up with a concert on Sunday night.

However, police say it is not clear whether the stabbing is related to those events.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the east division Staff Sergeant Desk at 613-236-1222 extension 3212 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS) or toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
