The city of Ottawa has imposed an overnight parking ban for the first time this winter, after Environment Canada says more snow is expected to fall Tuesday.
The overnight parking ban is applied when the government weather agency forecasts a snow accumulation of 7 centimetres or more for the Ottawa area.
Environment Canada expects 5 to 10 cm to fall Tuesday and another 2 cm overnight.
During an overnight parking ban, vehicles are banned from parking on any city street so crews can clear the roads.
Cars parked on the street between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. will be ticketed.
On-street parking permit holders are exempt from the ban.
