Severe thunderstorm watch has ended for Ottawa region
Residents advised to 'take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches'
The weather agency had issued both a tornado watch and then the thunderstorm watch on Sunday, but both have since lifted.
A string of tornado warnings were issued as storms passed through southern Ontario on Saturday afternoon, first issued in the London region and later in Toronto and Durham regions.
Warnings are an urgent message that severe weather is either occurring or will occur, whereas watches indicate that there's potential for the severe weather to occur.
