Ottawa South commuters face construction delays

Commuters from Ottawa South are facing a couple more construction areas to avoid this summer.

Construction crews began putting in a round-about at the intersection of Berrigan and Longfields Drives in Barrhaven on Tuesday morning.

The city is warning motorists to expect disruptions, delays and detours in that area. OC Transpo service will continue to use the roadway during that time. The project will cost $750,000.

Delays also started on Baseline Road as it is reduced to one lane in each direction between Constellation Drive and Woodroffe Avenue, as crews repair a transitway bridge.

The city is warning motorists of significant delays and congestion in those areas.

The work is expected to last until the fall.
