The Ottawa Senators' 57 invitees to training camp participated in off-ice fitness drills on Wednesday as training camp kicked off around the National Hockey League.

The players continued to answer questions about their former captain, Daniel Alfredsson, more than two months after he signed with the Detroit Red Wings.

Alfredsson had been with the Senators every season since 1995-96.

Centre Jason Spezza and defenceman Erik Karlsson also answered questions about their respective back and Achilles' injuries that set them back last season.

And, of course, head coach Paul MacLean was pushed on when he would name the team's next captain.

MacLean did say there are five players that he considers leaders on the team — Spezza, Marc Methot, Chris Phillips, Chris Neil and Craig Anderson.

Most of the discussion surrounding the captaincy has focused on Spezza and Phillips.

Watch the two videos above to hear more from Spezza, his new winger Bobby Ryan, Karlsson, Phillips and MacLean.
