Ottawa police seize 6 different drugs in raid, 20 charges laid

Ottawa police charged a trio of people after seizing cash and at least six different drugs from a home on Jeanne Mance Street on Friday.

Three people are facing drug charges after an Ottawa police raid at a Vanier home seized at least six different kinds of illegal drugs.

Police say the street crime unit executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Jeanne Mance Street, near Vanier Parkway and Montreal Road, on Friday.

They found many people inside, but four people were arrested and three of them were charged, police added in a news release.

Tactical unit officers seized several drugs including cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms (psilocybin), ecstasy, crack cocaine and prescription pills. They also seized cash.

A trio of people from Ottawa, including a 41-year-old man, 28-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, face a total of 20 charges.

Those charges include possession for purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and breaching of release conditions.

All three were scheduled to appear in an Ottawa court on Saturday.
