Ottawa police say they’re looking for help to explain how a man was injured near a Kanata bus stop 10 days ago, an incident which ultimately led to his death.

Police said officers and paramedics responded to Chimo Drive and Katimavik Road on April 22 at 4:17 p.m. where they found a 65-year-old man on the ground.

The man said he had a sore leg and appeared to be disoriented, telling officers and paramedics he was diabetic, police said.

Paramedics then took the man to hospital.

Investigators later discovered the man's leg was broken, and there were tire marks on his leg. The man didn’t remember anything after getting off an OC Transpo bus.

The man died in hospital on Thursday. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Police said the man, who is white, was wearing a dark and light-grey jacket, running shoes and jeans when he was found.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Ottawa police Det. Craig Bowman at 613-236-1222, ext. 2322 or phone Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
