Just 24 hours after two shots were fired into a Lowertown apartment building, seven shots were fired into a Little Italy apartment building around 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to Ottawa police.

No injuries were reported in either shooting.

Acting Staff Sgt. Ken Bryden said police are looking into the possibility that the shootings are related but said they appear to be "two isolated events."

Two shots were fired into the lobby of a Murray Street building, east of King Edward Avenue, around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Bryden said. No eye-witnesses have come forward but Bryden said police have video footage from the apartment building lobby.

No eye-witnesses have come forward in the second shooting, either, Bryden said. Seven shots were fired into the front of an apartment building on Norman Street, west of Preston Street, he said.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
