Ottawa man charged in CHEO Dream Home robbery
Police still looking for second suspect
A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with a break-and-enter at the CHEO Dream Home.
Ottawa police said around $6,000 worth of furniture and accessories, including a barbeque, were taken from the charity’s house at 532 Bridgeport Ave. sometime before Sept. 16.
Monday, they said they had arrested a 44-year-old Ottawa man and charged him with two counts of break and enter.
Police said they’re still looking for a second suspect, described as a Caucasian man aged 35-50 with a medium height and weight.
They said he had a moustache and possibly a beard, wearing a green and black checkered jacket, green baseball cap, black pants and white running shoes.
The CHEO Dream Home is the centrepiece of the children’s hospital’s annual lottery, raising money for research, patient care and equipment.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa police’s western break and enter unit at 613-236-1222 extension 2635 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
