Ottawa police have charged a 45-year-old man related to a 1997 sexual assault in Hampton Park.
Police say, during that summer, an unknown man grabbed an 11-year-old girl off a bike path.
But then this past July, the suspect was identified through DNA at the RCMP National DNA Data Bank. Ottawa police then investigated and arrested Francis Charron.
He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, uttering threats and forcible confinement.
Charron appeared in court on Oct. 3 and he remains in custody.
Police say there could be more victims of the suspect, who has lived in Ottawa and Gatineau in recent years.
