Ottawa International Hockey Festival finishes
The fifth annual Ottawa International Hockey Festival wrapped up Sunday for some 18,000 players, coaches, and family members.
Over the past few days 700 games were played at 29 different rinks around Ottawa, including the 10 championship games played Sunday at the Corel Centre.
The festival has grown from 91 teams in its first year to 397 this year, with some coming from Europe.
Some of the results:
- The Toronto Jr. Canadiens edged Detroit Compuware, 4-3, to take the PeeWee Minor Triple-A Elite title.
- The Pennsylvania Vampires beat the Pembroke Kings, 5-1, to win the Atom Major B.
- The Goulbourn Rams White, won its Atom Minor A championship game, 3-2, against the Gloucester Blackhawks.
