Ottawa police are looking for a suspect believed to be responsible for exposing himself to a woman and sexually assaulting her last March inside the Greenbank Towers highrise building.
Police say they began investigating last month when they learned of the incident and found surveillance video in the building at 2600 Draper Ave.
Police said a woman in her 20s told them an unknown man followed her into an elevator at about 5 a.m. The woman said the man then exposed himself to her and sexually assaulted her inside the elevator.
The woman told police she escaped the elevator when the doors opened and ran towards an apartment, but the man also attempted to enter the unit. He soon fled when he could not get inside, she added.
The man is described as being of Middle-Eastern descent, in his 20s, slim with curly short black hair, dark eyes and a beard.
The man was also wearing dark jogging pants, a dark sweater and baseball cap, plus he smelled of alcohol, the woman told police.
Police believe the man has a connection to the area of the sexual assault and possibly even the building.
