Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a 71-year-old man who was reported missing, and later found, on Friday.

At noon Friday, Ottawa police released a description of the man with a photo, plus his travel path, a description of his vehicle and details on where he was last seen.

The missing persons report said the man had been last seen on Thursday evening in Norwood, Ont., about a three-hour drive southwest of Ottawa.

Police said he had left his Ottawa home on Thursday morning headed to see family in Midhurst, Ont., which is more than four hours away.

The man had not arrived at his destination so police released the missing persons report.

Then at 6 p.m. Friday, police called off the search because the man was located.

A few hours later, Ottawa police said the man was the subject of an OPP investigation.

No other details were released.
