Musician, songwriter, author and political activist, Bob Geldof was in Ottawa as he played a concert at Centrepointe Theatre.

Geldof made a name for himself as the lead singer of the Irish rock band, Boomtown Rats, in the late 1970s and early 1980s. But he has since become well known for his work in political activism.

CBC News at Five anchor Lucy van Oldenbarneveld spoke with Geldof in a one-on-one interview Monday about his visit and looking back on his career in music and how that sparked his broad spectrum of work.
