A 14-year-old boy is now in hospital after he collided with an OC Transpo bus while he was skateboarding in Kanata.

Paramedics say the teenager was in front of All Saints Catholic High School near the intersection of Goulbourn Forced Road and Kanata Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. Friday.

He then collided with the bus and was sent flying about five metres, paramedics added.

The boy was knocked unconscious and suffered closed head injuries. Two bystanders, a physician and a nurse, were nearby and they helped immobilize the boy before paramedics arrived.

Soon after, the boy woke up at the scene before he was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in serious, but stable condition.

Ottawa police are investigating.

This crash comes about three weeks after another teenager was hit while skateboarding in the same Kanata neighbourhood.
