New York trio nabbed in alleged casino fraud

Three men were arrested after the Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Que., was allegedly defrauded of $13,000 at one of its gaming tables.

Police in Gatineau, Que., arrested three men for allegedly trying to defraud a gaming table at the Casino du Lac Leamy of  $13,000.

Police say the trio, two aged 25 and another 23, were playing at a gaming table Saturday. Casino security then recognized them because they allegedly tried to defraud the casino between April 17 and 21.

The men, all from New York, N.Y., are said to be born in the Dominican Republic. They are well known to police for gaming fraud throughout many states in the U.S.

The three men arrested were set to appear in Gatineau court Tuesday. A fourth man in his 30s is also being sought connected to the same group.

Gatineau police have recommended charges of fraud over $5,000 and attempted fraud.
