Police searching for man involved in fatal 2-car collision on Woodroffe Avenue
Victim suffered serious head and lower body injuries
Ottawa police are hunting for a man who left the scene of a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 30-year-old man in Nepean late Thursday night.
The man died in hospital after he was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Woodroffe Avenue south of Meadowlands Drive at about 11:30 p.m Thursday.
When paramedics arrived shortly after 11:30, they treated the man for serious head and lower extremity injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, paramedics said.
Later Friday morning, police announced he had died.
Police are now searching for the driver of a white, 2017 Hyundai Elantra, believed to have T-boned a southbound Honda Civic who was attempting to turn off Woodroffe Avenue onto Norice Street.
Police have seized the Hyundai for examination, and are looking for a white male, 20 to 25 years old, who was last seen wearing a dark hoodie. The driver of the Hyundai is not considered to be seriously injured.
Investigators are looking to speak to witnesses.
