Neil Young has cancelled his September show at the Ottawa Folk Festival, along with three other North American shows.

Young and his band Crazy Horse announced on Monday that the four shows will be cancelled along with the remaining dates of their European tour.

The cancellations are due to the band's guitarist "Poncho" Sampedro's hand injury.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the festivals where we were scheduled to appear," the band said in a statement.

"As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events," it said.

The other shows cancelled are Dundas, Ont., Port Chester, N.Y. and Arlington, Va.
