Motorcyclist dead after being hit by car crossing Hwy 17
A 57-year-old motorcyclist died after being struck by a car that was trying to cross Highway 17 west of Arnprior.
It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Friday
Ontario Provincial Police have identified the victim as Douglas Earhart of Oshawa, Ont. They say he was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Hwy. 17 toward Campbell Drive in McNab/Braeside Township.
A Honda Civic heading north on Campbell Dr. was trying to cross the highway when it struck the motorcycle, according to police.
Earhart died at the scene and the driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.
