A two-alarm fire on Pimlico Crescent left a family of three without a home on Monday. (CBC)

A two-alarm fire on Monday afternoon displaced six people in south Ottawa near Hunt Club Road and Airport Parkway.

The Ottawa Fire Services responded to a call at 1:40 p.m. at 2763 Pimlico Cres. following multiple reports of flames and dark smoke coming from a two-storey townhouse.

The home was empty at the time. No injuries were reported.

By 2 p.m., fire crews had the flames under control.

Two neighbouring town houses had minor smoke and water damage. Damages for the one house were estimated at $150,000 for the building and $40,000 for its contents.

The Salvation Army and the Red Cross said they will assist the three adults and three children displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
