Ottawa police have found a woman who went missing this morning during a city-wide frostbite advisory.
Police said the 29-year-old is safe just after 11 a.m. Thursday.
She had last been seen by her boyfriend around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in Nepean.
Const. Chuck Benoit said their search was especially urgent because of cold temperatures in the area.
“Due to the extreme weather, the duty inspector on scene did a call out to one of our units, the ESU,” he said.
“They're the emergency services unit which has special officers trained in search and rescue.”
The City of Ottawa has issued a frostbite advisory until Saturday, with temperatures forecast well into the minus teens.
