Pedestrian struck by car in critical condition

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a car in the west end early Sunday morning.

He was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a car in west Ottawa early Sunday morning.

The man in his 50s was struck by a southbound car on Clyde Avenue just north of Baseline Road around 12:30 a.m., paramedics said in a release.

He suffered multi-system trauma and was in cardiac arrest when first responders arrived, they said.

The man was taken to the trauma centre at the Ottawa Hospital.
