Ottawa police say a man shot in both legs Tuesday was dropped off at the Ottawa hospital's general campus before the driver of the vehicle sped away.
Police said the man from the Overbrook area was wheeled into the emergency section of the hospital at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim — who remains in hospital and awaits another surgery — has not co-operated with police.
But police said while the case is similar to another shooting on June 22, they don't believe the two incidents are related.

- Man, 24, shot in legs in ByWard Market Sunday morning
On Sunday, June 22, a 24-year-old man also refused to co-operate with police after he was shot in both legs in the ByWard Market.
In that incident, police said shots were heard on George Street near Cumberland Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
Acting Staff Sgt Ken Bryden said the June 22 incident involved a known gang member, but said Tuesday's victim is not, though he is known to police.
But Bryden said both incidents could be the work of gangs "sending messages."
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050 or phone Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
