Man plunges truck into Ottawa River

It was a busy night for police. Just before 1 a.m., a man lost control of his truck near the Tecumseh golf course and plunged into the Ottawa River.

He managed to swim to shore and call 911, police said.

The 33-year-old man from Val-des-Monts was taken to hospital to be treated for signs of hypothermia.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor but fatigue could be, police said.
