Man dead after ski trail heart attack
Emergency crews called to forested area off Anderson Road
A man in his 50s died after suffering a heart attack on a ski trail in a wooded part of east Ottawa on Friday afternoon, according to paramedics.
Two people found the cross-country skier about 2.5 kilometres from Anderson Road and called 911 just before 12:30 p.m., according to Ottawa Fire Services.
Ottawa paramedic officials said they took a Bobcat all-terrain vehicle into the woods off Dolman Ridge Road to reach the patient and called in the air ambulance.
However, the air ambulance was redirected to the scene of a crash at 8th Line and Parkway roads.
