A man wanted in a double shooting at a strip club at Ottawa's east end in July has been arrested at the Ottawa airport.

Gutu Osman Daoud, 20, had been wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault.

He was scheduled to appear for bail court Thursday after being taken into custody at the Ottawa International Airport on Wednesday with the help of the Canada Border Services Agency, said an Ottawa police news release. Daoud had been returning to Canada from Saudi Arabia.

Police issued a notice on Sept. 17 that they were looking for Daoud in relation to the July 5 shooting and did not know where he was.

A 24-year-old doorman was shot twice in the legs and a 51-year-old customer was shot once in the lower body around 12:48 a.m. outside the NuDen strip club on Triole Street, off Belfast Road just east of St. Laurent Boulevard.
