Man arrested after fatal hit-and-run near Kemptville
Roy Chapman, 54, hit and killed while riding a bicycle on Townline Road on Sunday
Mark Gagne, a 52-year-old North Grenville man, has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a crash in connection to a hit-and-run that left a cyclist dead near Kemptville on Sunday.
Roy Chapman, 54, was hit while riding a bicycle with friends on Townline Road around 5:15 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police said.
Police later received a tip about a grey pickup-up truck with damage on its front end. On Monday morning, police found the grey pick-up truck suspected to have been involved.
The suspected driver, Mark Gagne, was arrested at his home in North Grenville.
Gagne appeared in court in Brockville on Monday to face charges. A bail hearing has been scheduled for Thursday.
