Man, 21, arrested after 15-minute police chase
A man is expected to appear in court this morning after a police chase in West Quebec last night.
At about 11:30 p.m., MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police tried to stop a speeding vehicle in Wakefield. But the driver took off, triggering a high-speed pursuit covering 28 kilometres near Chelsea and Farrellton, which lasted for about 15 minutes.
The chase ended when the speeding car was involved in a minor crash with a police cruiser.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and his vehicle was seized. His license had been suspended and police said that was likely the man's reason for fleeing from police.
The man is facing multiple charges, $6,700 in fines and 65 demerit points, police said.
