Canadian sprinter Donovan Bailey was on top of the world during the summer of 1996.

His world-record sprint had won him a gold medal, the first for Canada in that competition.

Bailey also won gold as part of the 4-x-100-metre sprint relay team that summer, which included Ottawa resident Glenroy Gilbert.

Now 17 years later, Bailey continues to reflect on what sport has taught him about life.
