A Killaloe woman and her three-year-old child were airlifted to The Ottawa Hospital's Civic campus after a two-vehicle crash about two hours west of Ottawa.
The crash led to charges against a 67-year-old man from Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township.
Police said the man was driving a silver Saab westbound on Opeongo Road late Monday afternoon.
His car struck a van, driven by a 29-year-old woman, when he was making a left turn onto Letter Kenny Road.
There were four children in the van along with the driver, their mother. The driver and her three-year-old remain in hospital.
The man has been charged with careless driving. Ontario Provincial Police are still investigating the crash.
