A man facing sexual assault and choking charges in Ottawa has pleaded guilty to assault in another incident that took place in the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet.

Jacques Rouschop, 41, pleaded guilty to assault in L'Orginal court Tuesday. He was also facing charges of sexual assault and choking, but Crown lawyers dropped those charges.

The allegations centred around an incident on Aug. 22, 2013, in which Rouschop brought a sex trade worker to Montreal Road in Ottawa and assaulted her.

He was sentenced to six months in jail.

He still faces two aggravated sexual assault charges and two choking charges in connection to other incidents involving women in the sex trade in Ottawa.
