Jemmie, 21, was stabbed in the stomach and was taken to hospital, but lost his vital signs en route, paramedics said. He was pronounced dead later Saturday morning.

On Sunday night, Ottawa police released a still taken from a taxi camera of a man they called an "important witness" to Jemmie's death.

Police said Monday they had talked to the man, who is not a suspect, along with the taxi driver.

The major crimes unit is leading the investigation. Jemmie's death is Ottawa's fourth homicide of 2014.
