Inside Place de Ville theatre, a hidden piece of Ottawa's past
Much of downtown theatre space still preserved nearly 20 years after closing
Much has been made of the fact that downtown Ottawa is without a multiplex movie theatre after the closure of the World Exchange Plaza's screens.
While that space has been empty for a few weeks, another old theatre lies hidden a few blocks away.
The CBC's Jeanne Armstrong and historian Andrew King got an exclusive tour of the old Place de Ville theatre at 300 Sparks St., between Lyon and Kent streets, which closed in 1996 after 25 years of operation.
