A 35-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after a car crashed into a wall on the Transitway Monday night.

Ottawa police said they received a call at 8:15 p.m. about an erratic driver on the Ottawa River Parkway at Woodroffe Avenue.

Witnesses followed the car eastbound until it entered the Transitway, where it spun out of control and struck a rock wall.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle over the legal blood/alcohol limit.
