Hwy. 417 lanes reduced over weekend as highway widened

Highway 417 will be down to two lanes in each direction over the weekend between Nicholas Street and the Hwy 417/174 split as part of work to expand the highway to allow for rapid bus transit in 2015.

Highway 417 will be down to two lanes in each direction over the weekend between Nicholas Street and the Hwy 417/174 split as part of work to expand the highway to allow for rapid bus transit in 2015.

The lane reductions begin Friday evening at 9 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11.

On Monday until next Saturday  there will also be occasional off-peak lane reductions on Hwy 417 in both directions between Kent Street and the Hwy 417/174 split and between Parkdale Avenue and Rochester Street.

Hwy 174 westbound will also be subject to off-peak lane reductions between Montreal Road and Blair Road.

Highway 417 will also be closed between Lees Avenue and the Hwy 417/174 split in both directions at 15-minute intervals in the early a.m. hours starting Monday, with OPP officers directing traffic.
