With autumn just around the corner, Our Ottawa looks at a unique harvesting program that takes place right in the middle of the city.

Katrina Siks is the co-founder of Hidden Harvest Ottawa, an organization that works with the city and homeowners to pick fruit and nuts that would otherwise go to waste.

The food is picked by volunteers from backyards and city parks in Ottawa then shared with those in need in the community.

You can watch Lucy's interview with Siks on Our Ottawa on CBC Television. It airs Saturday at 6 a.m., Sunday at 11 a.m., and Monday at 11 a.m.
