Jagtar Gill was found dead in the living room of her Barrhaven home on Brambling Way on her 17th wedding anniversary.

Her body was discovered by her teenage daughter and her husband, who had been out shopping for cake and flowers to mark the occasion. The couple's two younger children were not home at the time.

Gill's husband, Bhupinderpal Gill, has also been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Both of the accused were under surveillance for several weeks before being arrested and charged in April. It's believed that the pair were romantically involved.

They're expected to be tried together, but their bail hearings are being held separately. Gill's bail hearing is scheduled for October.

Ronald's bail hearing was expected to begin Tuesday. Any evidence heard in court, including the reason for the delay, is covered by a routine publication ban.

Ronald has been in custody since her arrest. She is a married mother of two who lived in the same neighbourhood as the Gill family.

She also worked at OC Transpo with Bhupinderpal Gill, and it's alleged that the pair conspired together in the killing.

Police sources said at the time that Jagtar Gill was beaten before she was stabbed. A bloody metal bar was found in a wooded area near the crime scene.
