Gurpreet Ronald bail hearing delayed to Wednesday
Woman faces charge in January death of Jagtar Gill in suspected love triangle
A bail hearing is expected to begin Wednesday for Gurpreet Ronald, who is accused of first-degree murder in the death of an Ottawa mother in January.
Her body was discovered by her teenage daughter and her husband, who had been out shopping for cake and flowers to mark the occasion. The couple's two younger children were not home at the time.
Gill's husband, Bhupinderpal Gill, has also been charged with first-degree murder in the case.
Both of the accused were under surveillance for several weeks before being arrested and charged in April. It's believed that the pair were romantically involved.
Ronald's bail hearing was expected to begin Tuesday. Any evidence heard in court, including the reason for the delay, is covered by a routine publication ban.
Ronald has been in custody since her arrest. She is a married mother of two who lived in the same neighbourhood as the Gill family.
She also worked at OC Transpo with Bhupinderpal Gill, and it's alleged that the pair conspired together in the killing.
Police sources said at the time that Jagtar Gill was beaten before she was stabbed. A bloody metal bar was found in a wooded area near the crime scene.
