Ottawa police investigated after a 17-year-old girl was struck on the Mackenzie King bridge near the Rideau Centre on Jan. 21, 2014. (CBC)

The collision happened at about 4:15 p.m. on the bridge, which extends Albert and Slater Streets east across the Rideau Canal.

The female pedestrian was taken to hospital, but there was no word on her condition. However, police at the scene said the collision was minor.

The bridge was reduced to one lane in each direction as Ottawa police directed traffic, but the road has since reopened.
