STO alleges pickup truck driver ran red light, crashed into accordion-style bus carrying 90
There were 22 people injured and 17 taken to hospital after police say a pickup truck ran a red light and crashed with an accordion-style Rapibus in Gatineau during Thursday's rush hour.
Gatineau police said the crash happened just before 5 p.m. on de la Carrière Boulevard near the Galeries de Hull along the Rapibus corridor.
Seventeen people were taken to hospital, including the drivers of the bus and the truck. There were 90 people aboard the bus.
Police confirmed the truck ran the red light.
The driver will be fined $162 and lose three points off his diver's licence.
Since the Rapibus service began in October 2013, there have been 15 crashes involving the buses and vehicles.
