Two men escaped with only minor injuries after a fiery crash in Aylmer, Que., on Thursday night.

A 27-year-old man was driving his vehicle on Chemin Aylmer when police say a deer sprang out onto the road.

The driver swerved and lost control of his vehicle, which struck a hydro pole.

The impact of the collision broke the pole, sending high voltage wires crashing onto the road and starting the fire.

Both occupants escaped before the fire spread to the vehicle.
