A 42-year-old man from the Gatineau area is facing multiple charges and had his license suspended after a car was seen speeding and making aggressive manoeuvres on Wednesday morning.
Two Gatineau police officers in an unmarked police vehicle spotted a grey Acura car travelling 86 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Georges Street in the Masson-Angers neighbourhood.
The car was also making aggressive manoeuvres while other vehicles were on the road.
The officers followed the car onto Highway 50, where the driver of the Acura continued driving aggressively and was seen doing 173 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, police said.
Police stopped the vehicle on the highway. The driver, a 42-year-old man from the area, was accompanied by the owner of the vehicle and a three-year-old child sitting in a rear booster seat that wasn't meant for children of that age.
The driver's license was suspended for seven days.
