For farm families, September is crunch time. Crops need to be cut or picked, children are heading back to school, and some farmers juggle second jobs.

Last Friday, a seven-year-old girl from outside Tweed fell out of a tractor and was then struck by the moving vehicle. She later died in hospital.

Ottawa Morning's Stu Mills visited farmers in the Ottawa area to talk about balancing safety with the pressures to produce.
