Family of 4 homeless after Vanier house fire

A fire on Sunday spread to an apartment unit on Bradley Avenue in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood, damaging the residence and leaving two children and two adults homeless.

​A family of four is homeless after their Vanier unit was destroyed by fire on Sunday.

Ottawa firefighters responded to 911 calls at about 2:45 p.m. reporting a fire behind a brick, two-storey building.

They arrived and found the fire had spread from outside into one of three units at 250 Bradley Ave. in Vanier.

The fire was under control by 3:10 p.m., fire officials said. Damage is estimated at $50,000.

Nobody was injured, but two adults and two chidren are now homeless due to the fire.

The cause remains under investigation.
